Jennifer Goodwin and Jocelyn Romano, Ashton Elementary School: All Books Classroom Bundle
The purchase of the All Books Classroom Bundle – early and novice decodable chapter books plus comprehension workbooks includes 15 early and novice level chapter books that include books with 20-24 chapters, no illustrations to prevent guessing and have a larger font size. Each book also comes with a downloadable pdf comprehension workbook.
Kathryn Boucher and Jennifer Antonelli, Garvin Memorial School and JJM Cumberland Hill School: Arts and Culture Series
This project enhances our Wonders curriculum by giving our students live, engaging experiences that will bring to life the words on the page that they encounter in their reading. Sometimes the “Essential Questions” can seem abstract to students, so making them more concrete is very important, especially for our Multilingual Learners (MLL) and special education students
Leslee Deslauriers and Elizabeth McIlroy, Garvin Memorial School : Bridges Math Intervention
Bridges Math Intervention provides targeted instruction and assessment for essential K–5 mathematics skills and concepts. It is a strengths-based approach building on each student’s abilities—starting with manipulatives, then moving to two-dimensional representations and mental images. It will complement the core math instruction all students get in the classroom.
Tara Villanova, Community Elementary School: Bringing the Museum to the Students
Bringing the museum to the students! The Teacher’s Discovery Traveling Exhibits are an ingenious way to bring incredible artwork to students without the expense of museum admission or buses, especially since the exhibit will be seen by all 661 of our students.
